Quarantine

Release Email

Releases a quarantined email for delivery. The body and subject are sanitized before being sent. Each quarantine_id can only be released once.

i

Where does the ID come from? When /send flags a message, it returns 403 with a quarantine_id. See My messages are flagged as spam.

!

Limits: a quarantine record expires after 3 hours, and releases are capped at 10 per 3 hours. Going over the cap returns RELEASE_LIMIT_REACHED and the account goes under review. Review the content before you release.

Body parameters

  • quarantine_idstringrequired

The ID returned in the 403 response from /send when the email was flagged.

    e.g. "qtn_3f2a1b4c8e9d4f7a"

What happens on release

  1. 1

    Lookup

The quarantine record is fetched and validated against your account. Records belonging to other accounts are rejected.

  2. 2

    Sanitize

The body and subject are sanitized to strip any remaining harmful patterns before delivery.

  3. 3

    Ingest

Each recipient in the original payload gets an individual email record prepared and dispatched via the internal ingest pipeline.

  4. 4

    Mark released

The quarantine record is marked as released: true and the release counter is incremented. Subsequent calls with the same ID are rejected.

Because the body and subject are sanitized, the delivered email can differ from the one you originally sent.
